Winter funeral flowers

December 22, 2008

Here is a soft selection, for the passing of an elegant lady.  The soft pearl and shell tones of the spray roses,  hybrid roses, and peonies along with the cascading cedar greenery, and soft tone of the seeded eucci.

The elegant comination is perfect for any time of the year, and for a peaceful elegant and comforting look.  The looks very handsome on a rich tone casket, a wood tone or even a brushed nickle.

Fruit and flower centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table, adds the flavor of the season.

The textures and colors come together when I gather flowers, to match the dinning room, the table cloth, and the china pattern.
We can make a pink and rose color dinning room look thanksgiving and fall like, by adding red apples, beige wheat, purple cabbage flowers, brown pears, red, cream, and honey tone roses and orchids.  Go ahead and call me for some suggestions!  Michael

A selection of fruits, nuts, and your family!

A selection of fruits, nuts, and your family!

Almost every family has a few fruits and nuts as members, but here we are talking about the holiday mantle decoration.  This can be created for Thanksgiving as shown, or change the ribbon, and switch the orange pumpkins and brown pears and fall flowers to red apples and green pears, along with the nuts, and a few flowers, Holly and back to adding the candles.  The best part is that after the family nuts go back home, you can eat the fruit!

This is a lovley fall bouquet, for a wedding party. The attendents have rish red tone dresses. The random cascade sets a carefree yet elegant look to a formal event.

Rich Fall Flowers

Fall centerpiece

Rich colors of the season, remind us of Tuscany.  This table is for a fall wedding celebration, but the combination is perfect for any family gathering.  Cabbages, sunflowers, roses, red rover mums, and Gerber add the rich textures to this design.

Gerbera Baby

July 25, 2008

A client wanted an arrangement of all gerberas so we were happy to oblige.  We added a “South of the Border” flair using very warm and vibrant colors accented with whisps of grass.

Hello all, My name is Trevor and I would like to welcome to the new Ferns and Flowers blog

I have created this blog in order to show our various works in progress, completed arrangements, and events. Ferns and Flowers was started in 1979 by mother and son team, Aline and Michael Gerard (I being Michaels son). In 2000 we moved to our present location, and Michaels wife Monica opened up the Teahouse and Bistro attached to the flower shop. After creating thousands arrangements for weddings and funerals, proms and graduations, and the commemoration and celibration of many other major events in peoples lives, we have accumulated a vast ammount of floral experience and are ready and willing to take on any request our clients have.

Everyone is welcome to come by and visit us here at Ferns and Flowers, Teahouse and Bistro

we are located on 1094 Centerville rd, Warwick, Rhode Island

Our hours are Monday thru Friday: 9am-5:30pm and Saturday: 9am-4pm.

Ps. We are very receptive to all forms of constructive comments and suggestions!
