Charm for the Home
November 15, 2008

- To create a pleasing mantle display color is the key. You may want to use a collection that you have, be it Santas like I have done, or Nutcrackers, Snow Babies. I have had people who come in who collect owls, frogs, cats, cows, pigs… The uniform greenery, with red berries and ribbon, and lights ties it together. Pull the major colors out of the collection, be it blue and white tea pot collection, or burgandy plum and gold from and angel collection and play on them.
-
- The family of this fine tree, requested that we go to the house while away, to decorate the tree. We found that for such a large tree they have few small ornaments, some school made. We added larger style pieces, ribbons, and silk poinsettias to fill the overal tree with rich tuscan colors.
Each home requires its own charm, here are a few for you to enjoy.

- Classic entrance, with 20 foot high columns, needs large volume, but I wanted to keep it simple and light. Silver and white snow flakes , large faux trees and white lights fill the space in the middle of the columns. We wrapped cinderblocks with water proof paper, to weigh the trees in place. The wind on this hill requires it be secure.
-
- A Formal setting requires the groomed topiary look, and classic gold, white and green creates the formal elegant holiday.
Imagine having your home decorated, or having the pieces done to your liking. Each room is special. We can create the permanent decorations so that you can place then quickly and easy yourself.
The professional look, at a lower price, year after year, it will look perfect.
Rhode Island State House Christmas Mantles
November 4, 2008
I have in the past done the Rhode Island State house mantles for Christmas. It was an honor to do, and the scale is very large. Everything must have the same “weights” and sizes, so as look normal.
That mantle in the state reception room is 16 feet long! Before 9/11 I could park at the door and carry it up the 150 steps to the 10 foot lift into place. After 9/11 I had to park in the street and fight the wind, to get it in the building, the delivery was a killer, however beauty has a cost as a lady would say…
The “smaller honey mantel is in the Governor’s personal office, warm green tones and rich basil green are a perfect combination for the holiday colors. Of course when designing any creation it is done from the perspective of who will be viewing it. So as the Governor would be sitting across the mantle at his desk, I must confess that I sat in his chair for the perspective… to make sure it was perfect!
That would be the closest I will ever get to the seat of government! Thanks but it is a hot seat, you can’t please everyone. I much prefer what I do.
